Canowindra Show Young Woman, Junior Young Woman & Rural Achiever Competitions
Are you passionate about your local community, rural life or agriculture? The Canowindra Show Society invites young people aged 15 to 29 to apply for the 2025 Young Woman, Junior Young Woman, or Rural Achiever programs.
These respected competitions are more than just a title—they’re a launchpad for personal growth, leadership development, and community connection. Whether you dream of taking the stage at the Sydney Royal Easter Show or simply want to gain confidence and meet new people, this is your opportunity.
Program Overview
- Young Woman (18–25 years)
- Junior Young Woman (15–17 years)
- Rural Achiever (20–29 years, open to males and females)
You don’t need to be from a farming background—just enthusiastic about being involved in your community and the local show movement.
Participants gain:
- Leadership and communication skills
- Public speaking experience
- Community engagement opportunities
- The chance to represent Canowindra at the Zone 6 Finals and potentially the Sydney Royal Easter Show
- Networking with young leaders from across NSW
Key Dates
- Applications close: Sunday 24 August 2025
- Information Session: Date to be advised
- Combined Activity: 30 August 2025
- Judging Interviews & Morning Tea: Saturday 13 September 2025
- Show Day Participation & Presentation: Saturday 27 September 2025
Winners of the Young Woman competition will represent Canowindra at the Zone 6 Finals in Eugowra on 28 February 2026, with the opportunity to progress to the Sydney Royal.
The Rural Achiever Award, run by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS), also provides additional opportunities such as representing NSW at the National Rural Ambassador Award and participating in an exchange to the Royal Adelaide Show.
