Regulations
Showground Rules
To help ensure a safe and enjoyable Show for everyone:
- No glass containers are permitted on the Showgrounds.
- No alcohol may be brought onto the Showgrounds.
- Electric fences are not permitted.
- Vehicles may only enter the Showgrounds with prior approval and where required for a specific Show section.
- The Canowindra Show Society accepts no responsibility for any accident, injury, loss, or damage involving exhibitors, competitors, spectators, or exhibits.
Exhibitor Information
All pavilion exhibits delivery deadlines can be found here.
- Exhibits must be the genuine property of the exhibitor unless otherwise stated in the Schedule.
- Exhibitors must provide their name, address, and district when entering.
- The Committee may request a statutory declaration to verify ownership of an exhibit.
Entry Tickets
- Exhibits must be correctly displayed and have an official entry ticket attached.
- Entry tickets are issued by the Secretary when entries are submitted.
- Stewards cannot accept exhibits without an attached ticket.
Judging
- Judging will commence at the times specified in the Schedule.
- Only authorised personnel are permitted in judging areas while judging is in progress.
- Any person interfering with a Judge, disputing judging decisions during judging, or behaving inappropriately towards Judges, Stewards, or Officials may be removed from the Showgrounds and have their exhibits disqualified.
- Judges may withhold prizes if exhibits do not meet the required standard.
Awards & Trophies
- A minimum of two exhibitors is generally required for a trophy to be awarded, unless otherwise determined by the Judge.
- Prize money and trophies should be collected during the Show.
- Competitors who do not participate in the Grand Parade may forfeit their prize money.
- Prize money can be collected from the Show Office in Burdette Hall.
Protests
- Any protest must be lodged in writing with the Secretary by 6:00pm on Show Day.
- A $50 protest fee must accompany the protest.
- The fee will be forfeited if the protest is not upheld.
- The Committee's decision is final.
Collection of Exhibits
- Exhibits must not be removed before 4:00pm without permission from the Secretary or the relevant Section Steward.
Stewards
- Stewards may move an exhibit to the correct class if authorised by the Judge.
- Following judging, all award books must be returned to the Secretary's Office.
Judges
- Judges are not required to award prizes if exhibits do not display sufficient merit.
- Judges may disqualify any exhibit that does not comply with the regulations or class requirements and will record the reason for disqualification.
