Regulations

  • Showground

    • No Glass Allowed on Grounds
    • Electric Fences Not to Be Used in Showground
    • The Committee Accepts No Responsibility for Accident to Any Exhibit, Competitor or Spectator During Our Show.
  • Exhibitors

    Exhibits must be presented NO LATER THAN 9:30AM on the Friday first day of the show, the only exception being Fine Arts-Section U and photography- Section UA are accepted no later than Tuesday 4pm the week of the show. All exhibits must be the bona-fide property of exhibitors at time of entry, unless otherwise expressed in Schedule. The name, residence and district of exhibitor must be given when entering exhibits. Exhibitors shall, if required, furnish a statutory declaration as to the bona-fides of their exhibits.


    All exhibits must be properly placed and ticketed on the day and hour specified in Schedule and time sheets, at which hour the judges will commence inspection. The Secretary will supply tickets when entry is made, and no exhibit will be accepted by the Steward unless the ticket is attached thereto. There must be two contestants in a Section or no trophy will be awarded, Unless the judge decides to award a prize.


    Only authorised persons will be allowed in the vicinity of the Judges whilst judging is in progress. Any exhibitor or other person interfering with a Judge, or calling into question their awards on the ground, or guilty of unseemly conduct to any Judge or Steward, or Official of the Association, may be expelled from the ground and their exhibits disqualified.


    Exhibitors shall accept the decision of the Judge or Judges appointed by the Committee. All protests are to be in writing, fully setting out the grounds of such protest, to be lodged with the Secretary before 6pm on the day of the Show, accompanied by a fee of ten dollars ($10) which shall be forfeited to the Committee if the protest is deemed unfounded. In all protests, the decision of the Committee shall be final and without appeal.


    The Association will not be responsible for any accident caused through or by any exhibit, and will not under any circumstances be responsible for any loss, injury, or mis-delivery of any exhibit or for any damage done thereto.


    No exhibit shall be removed before 4pm without the permission of the Secretary or Stewards of the section. Winning Exhibitors are requested to collect their prize money and trophies during Show time. Competitors failing to be present in Grand Parade forfeit prize money.


    All prizes awarded at the Show may be paid by the Secretary at the office or except in cases where protests are entered, and those as soon as decided. Show office Hour are:

  • Stewards

    Exhibits entered in the wrong class may be placed in the correct class by the stewards, if

     authorised by the judge. Stewards to return award book to the Secretary’s office after judging.

  • Judges

    The Judge will not award prizes to exhibits which are not considered to possess sufficient merit. The Judge shall have power to disqualify and mark as disqualified any exhibit which, in their opinion, does not comply with the regulations and class, and shall enter the reason in their books.

Side Show Regulations

  • Side Show Regulations

    • All Side Shows Operating Must Have Proper Risk Insurance Cover.
    • All Dogs Must Be on a Leash at All Times.
  • Space for Side Show Guild Members:

    Camp site $25 per site per night, powered caravan site $30 per site per night & $50 for 3 phase power, electricity pending current charges. Space to be in full at time of allocation. Camp to be left clean.

  • Independent Stand

  • Machinery Stands:

    • Commercial trade space holders must show proof of Liability insurance. This should be in the form of a certificate of currency.
    • Fees are set at $40 per space, space calculated off a 3x3 sizing. To be paid prior to the show to the bank account. Please contact canowindrashow@hotmail for Trade space availability.
  • Sub-letting Not Allowable:

    Stand payment and advertising per schedule must be paid in full before closing of show, otherwise forfeit the right to a stand at future shows.

    • Prices are for two day entry when entering on the Friday. 
    • Must Pay at the Gate.
    • If leaving the show and re-entering, must let gate know before exiting or will have to pay again to re-enter.

  • The Privileges of Financial and Life Members Shall Be as Follows:

    1. The Right to Propose Measures, and Take Part in, and Vote at the Annual Meetings of the Association.
    2. Eligible for Election to Any Office of the Association as a Contractor or Otherwise.
    3. Free Admission for Member, Partner and Children Attending School, in the Ground and Grandstand at All Exhibitions of the Association.
    4. Free Admission for Horses, Vehicles, Motor-car and Motor-cycle.
    5. Free Entry of Exhibits, Unless Otherwise Specified in the Exhibition Schedule.
    6. Tickets of Membership for Self and Guest.
    7. A Lady or Youth Under the Age of 21 Years May Become a Member on Payment of Half the Annual Subscription for the Time Being in Force, Which Will Entitle the Holder to Free Admission to the Ground and Grandstand for Self, Free Admission for Conveyance, and Also Free Entry for Exhibits Unless Otherwise Specified in the Exhibition Schedule, but Does Not Entitle to a Vote at Any Meeting of the Association. 
    8. Members Tickets Are Not Transferable.
  • Prize Money

    • Prize money will be available at any time during the show from the Secretary’s office located near the main gate.
    • You can assist by making early entries to: The Secretary, PO Box 177, Canowindra NSW 2804
    • Due to high costs, kindly forward stamped self-addressed envelope for return of show mail. If postage is not included, entries will be held for “ pick up” at the office at the Showground. No phone entries after the Thursday prior to the show.

  • Entries

    Fleeces in by 10am Friday, Given to Steward, In a Bag or box. Entry ticket must be attached to fleece. The Association will not be responsible for wrappings sent in with fleece. 

    Fleeces exhibited must comprise the whole covering from one sheep excluding locks and pieces.

  • Entry Fee

    Show admission or become a member.

  • Prize Money

    First $3. Second $1. Champion a ribbon. COLLECT PRIZE MONEY & TROPHIES AT SHOW. Judging will be done on score card basis, points being allocated as follows: Trueness to type 10, Character 10, Evenness 10, Length 6, Soundness 6, Handle 6, Colour 6, Density 6, condition (yield) 20, Weight 20: Total 100. Points awarded as follows: 1 point for champion, 2 points for first, 1 point for second. In the event of a tie the exhibitor with the greatest number of firsts to be winner. Three entries or no second prize.
